Northern Alberta Mule Deer Hunt

Primal Adventures’ Mule Deer Hunts are operated along a Northern stretch of the famous Peace River. The Peace River valley is widely known as a Big Game haven, particularly for Mule Deer and Elk hunting opportunities. Our hunting area begins along the North border of vast stretches of farmland and continues into thousands of square miles of public land.

The Mule deer in our area live in the fringe bushlines along the farmland and river valley. Throughout the day, deer can be found travelling, feeding, and bedding in the open hillsides and cliffs of the huge valley, as well as in the adjacent fields and meadows of the farm country.

Mature Bucks in our area average from 140”- +180” class. Trophy class Bucks exceeding 180” are not uncommon, however, with the dense bush available for concealment and escape, you may only be lucky enough to catch a glimpse. As with most other hunting scenarios, the opportunity for a once in a lifetime Deer is very real, providing quite a few variables align!

The standard Mule Deer Rut Hunt package includes 6 full days of hunting. We will be based out of the nearest town to our hunting locations. Comfortable Motel rooms will be provided and all cooking will be done by your guides in house, using a standard home-style variety of meals. Providing great food and a great camp atmosphere for our hunters is something our Outfit takes very seriously!

Each day you will wake up early and enjoy a hot breakfast and coffee before departing for the day. Our guides are well equipped with clean full size pickups, a reliable ATV, and all the gear needed to keep you safe and comfortable.

You can expect about an hour of highway driving to and from hunting locations, that being said, once clear of the highway most of our area can be actively hunted while travelling in or on a vehicle/ATV. (We are knowledgeable about and respect all Alberta Firearms, Wildlife and Hunting regulations. Zero Tolerance Policy.)

At this time of year we have 7- 10 hours of legal hunting light. Most days will be spent covering ground and glassing feeding and bedding areas.
