The archery Moose hunts take place in the pre-rut and early rut before the rifle season opens.

Our professional knowledge and calling experience give us ample opportunity to call large mature bulls into bow range.

We make sure to have several preset options available for this particular hunt in the case of needing a change in strategy.

In addition to hunting on foot and calling, hunters can expect to use ground blinds or tree-stands to efficiently hunt high traffic areas and natural mineral licks.

In some of Northern Alberta’s last true wilderness resides North America’s second largest subspecies of the deer family. The mostly inaccessible dense bush of the Northern hills hold populations of Moose that have never seen a human. It takes a fair amount of effort and will-power to get ourselves into these trophy areas. This is a physically and mentally demanding hunt, the Alberta wilderness can be very rewarding as well as emotionally and physically diminishing. A hunt like this, is goal oriented, with a trophy class target in mind. All luxuries are cut to a minimum and only the crucial comforts and bare essentials make the pack list.

Camp setup will typically be made up of conventional “pop-up” style tents, tarp camp shelter, and backpacking campfire style cooking. A true Northern Alberta Adventure with a backpacking spin to it! If you’re seeking a bull in excess of 50’’+, an old mature representative of the trophy class in the Canadian Moose species and you’re willing to work your body and mind to the brink in order to fill your expectations. This late season hunt takes place post-rut after the bulls have returned to their regular daily feeding habits. At this time in the early winter bulls can be found paired together or grouped up with several other bulls giving most hunters an opportunity of choice. The deep and heavy snow force the moose to travel more predictable and accessible routes.

Our strategy of covering ground searching large cut-blocks, pipelines, etc. has proven itself time and time again. Our guides are knowledgeable and aware of high density areas and exploit the Moose reluctance to travel away from a comfortable feeding area.
